For entertainment and self-reflection only. Stratum is a self-discovery and entertainment application. The insights, analyses, and portraits generated are intended for personal reflection and are not clinical assessments, psychological diagnoses, or medical advice of any kind.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your email address, name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth when you create an account or complete your portrait. We also collect your responses to our assessment questions.
We collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the application. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to generate your personal portrait, deliver your results, and improve the Stratum experience. Birth data is used only to add interpretive context to your portrait when you choose to provide it.
If you opt in, we may send you occasional email updates about new insights and features. You can opt out at any time from within the app or by emailing us.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a PostgreSQL-based platform with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We retain your portrait and assessment data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion at any time.
4. AI-Generated Content
Your portrait is generated using AI language models. Your assessment responses are sent to AI providers solely for the purpose of generating your portrait. We do not use your data to train external AI models. Generated portraits are stored in association with your account so you can revisit them.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Stratum: Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (primary AI portrait generation), OpenAI (secondary/fallback AI generation), Resend (email delivery), Loops.so (email marketing and retention sequences), and Stripe (payment processing). Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies. Your survey responses are sent to Anthropic (and, in fallback scenarios, OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating your portrait. Your email address is shared with Loops.so to deliver portrait-related emails. Payment information is processed by Stripe and never stored on Stratum servers.
6. Browser Fingerprinting
To prevent abuse of our free tier and manage rate limits fairly, we generate a non-personal browser fingerprint when you visit our site. This fingerprint is derived from standard browser characteristics such as screen size, time zone, and installed fonts. We do not use this fingerprint to track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share it with third parties. It is used solely to identify abusive usage patterns (such as the same device repeatedly creating anonymous sessions to bypass usage limits).
We use the open-source FingerprintJS library for this purpose. No personal information is transmitted to any third-party service — the fingerprint is computed locally in your browser and sent only to our own servers.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@stratumecho.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Age Requirement
Stratum is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at support@stratumecho.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Your continued use of Stratum after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
